HOO do we hope to help?
Holding our Own (HOO) recognises that parents, siblings, family, whanau and friends of LGBTQ need a safe space to learn about, challenge and Hold Our Own.
HOO supports diversity, HOO includes both gender identified and diverse sexual orientations, we include and support everyone, we are a community.
Holding Our Own is a soft place for our families to land, we talk real, it takes a stand for our whanau – we do it together.
The African belief that “It takes a village to raise a child”, our village offers respect, dignity and equality to all our families. We open our group to all who share and support our vision.
This group acknowledges Te Tiriti o Waitangi and its obligation to Maori to improve the health and wellbeing of Takataapui and their whanau, hapu and iwi. Confidentiality is maintained in our practice and New Zealand Association of S.W.R.B. code of Ethics is upheld.
